Slot Allocation - Progress Allocation Process
Please see the graphs below to see the progress of the number of allocated slots before and during a winter or summer season at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, Eindhoven Airport and Rotterdam The Hague Airport.
The complete allocation process (see also 'allocation process' under 'slot allocation') for a particular season takes almost a year (winter season) or more than a year (summer season) and starts with the SHL, the message by coordinators to inform airlines of the status of their slots for historical precedence.
Then follows the SAL, the message by coordinators to inform airlines how their requested (historical and new) slots have been preliminary confirmed, altered or refused.
The third point indicates the '80/20 date', (former slot return date) i.e. 31st January for the summer season and 31st August for the winter season. The series of slots held by airlines at these dates should be operated by airlines for at least 80%, otherwise they face the possible loss of historical precedence.,
Finally the graphs show the start of the season and the end of the season, giving the ultimate number of actual operated slots
The graphs show an overview of the last 3 years compared to the current season.
